Ah, but direct injection is just one form of fuel injection. Direct
injection is what diesels use; the injector goes directly into the
combustion chamber. This is only starting to be used in production
gasoline-powered cars now; most gasoline cars with fuel injection are
injecting into the manifold. This is why it is hard to do a good job of
fuel-injecting an A-Series engine (or any other 4-cylinder with a 5-port
head). When someone develops a 16-valve direct-injection head for the
