Pictures didn't come through, but it was obviously the conductor's fault. We
had one in the yard a couple of months ago where the track broke 1/2 way
through a 130 car intermodal. UP tried their darndest to blame the crew.

Cedar Bay (Fla) unit train at MP 19.6, Clinchco, Virginia on the former
Clinchfield, now known as the Kingsport Subdivision. Train was southbound
between two tunnels when it encountered a rockslide that came down when the
ambient temperature got around 45 degrees, creating a thaw which brought the
rocks down. Slide was as high as the front walkway on engine 105 which was
lifted airborne, with the rest of the train pushing it sideways. Trailing unit
439 turned over and laid over on its side right in the middle of Squirrel Camp
Creek with the front nearly buried in coal from the 5 loaded 120 ton coal cars
which derailed behind the consist. Engineer and conductor were slightly
injured with some cuts and bruises. The mainframe on 439 is warped and it
will be cut up and scrapped in place next week.
