Look at the engine number and make sure that was not used as a VIN.

For the lists' info..
The Morris ID plate should under the hood, and is either fixed to the
firewall (bulkhead), or to the inside of the drivers side wheel arch
dependant on the year of manufacture. No VIN numbers prior to 1965.
