Lee,

Ethanol is miscible with water!! Water in your vehicle (except for cooling) is
not generally considered to be a good thing!

It is also a general purpose industrial and medical solvent

The Clean Fuels Report comparison of fuel emissions shows that ethanol exhaust
generates 2.14 times as much ozone as does gasoline exhaust.

When this is added into the custom Localised Pollution Index (LPI) of The Clean
Fuels Report the local pollution (pollution that contributes to smog) is 1.7 on
a scale where gasoline is 1.0 and higher numbers signify greater pollution.

Ethanol is a central nervous system depressant and has significant psychoactive
effects in sublethal doses

Energy content:
E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) 33.2 MJ/Kg for 105 Octane
Gasohol (90% gasoline + 10% ethanol) 47.1 for 93/94 Octane
Regular gasoline 44.4 MJ/Kg for 91 Octane

And my minor is using *very* rubber... perishing but still there!!

I can make my own mind up... so I buy Ethanol-Free Gas <G>

We've had ten percent ethanol is all our gas here in the midwest for,
perhaps, 30 years and all that old rubber that was incompatible with
alcohol was replaced long, long ago. E10 is harmless. Modern fuels have
a short shelf life and are seasonally formulated.
