There are many downsides to E10 and E15.

Its hygroscopic as previously noted, absorbing water, which will NOT settle
out to the bottom of the tank as water will if found in non-ethanol fuel.

It has a very short shelf life... we are seeing significant degradation in as
little as 90 days of in-tank storage.

In breaking down, it becomes acidic, attacking some plastics, metals and
rubber.

The ethanol industry is heaving promoting the use of E15 in NASCAR. However,
the fuel supplier had to completely change their transport and storage systems
(no underground tanks), drain all fuel from cars after each race, etc. to
insure it would work reliably.

Here are some alternatives...

Sunoco Racing Fuel... available in a variety of octanes... 100-114, leaded and
unleaded. Ethanol-free fuel has a storage life of 2 years plus with no
breakdown. $8/per gallon and up. 1-800-racegas

Av Gas... similar shelf life, additive package maximized for no freeze-up at
altitude. 100LL (low lead) avail at most FBO's.

Boat gas... many marinas are authorized to sell ethanol-free gas... as long as
its for off-road use. Legally they cant pump it straight into your car, so
bring your cans. Expect to pay 25-50% more than regular pump price.

There are websites that list ethanol-free gas locations. Happy hunting.
