No worries Mark, I did not expect a personal thanks back when I sent a
small donation.
Automated recognition from Paypal is good - so we know it went through.

Your hard work keeping this up and running is way more thanks than I ever
need.
Let us know as soon as the next drive happens, I'm sure we will respond.

In the 90's I ran a site for people to get the games from id Software.
Doom and Quake mostly.
This was actually approved by and for id. John Carmack and others there
were email "friends" of mine.
I was talking about that with some geeks at work the other day and they
were a bit incredulous.
So I fired off an email to John Carmack while there were standing there.
Within a couple minutes I get a reply that is well thought out and actually
several paragraphs and a bit personal.
They were floored. Carmack is like a god to geeks and nerds.
Not only is he responsible for some of the best video games ever and lots
of spinoffs but now he's an honest to goodness rocket scientist.
So anyway, I ran this game site and lots of (half a million at least)
people got stuff from me and no one ever offered to donate or give back.
I never asked. My life might be radically different today if I had - no one
will ever know.

My only point is - you have to ask. I for one am glad you do.
Good luck with the job hunt, I hope someone recognizes your talents and
asks you to come on board - and soon.

Subject: [Spridgets] My apologies

I'm sitting at the computer with my morning coffee working
on finding a new job. There are aspects of my current job I
enjoy, but the pay is pathetic. I send out resumes and cover
letters, rarely hear anything back.

And it occurred to me I do the same. Many of you over the
years have donated to Team.Net either through Paypal or with
a check sent through the mail. And many of you have never
heard back from me about it. I apologise for being rude
and stupid.

I WILL spend some time today sending off personal thank you
emails for those contributors whose email addresses are known.
With checks sometimes it is hard to match the name on the check
with the proper email address.

We'll be having another fund drive coming up in a few months,
I plan to be better at repsonding to contributions. I do
remember the first fund drive back in 1991, pre Paypal, when
I actually wrote and mailed postcards to contributors. I need
to show some respect for those who take a moment to support
the lists and thank them.

Again, sorry for being such a flake about this issue.

mjb.
