At this fall's New England Region AHCA "Summit" event we were treated to a
rally through the cranberry country of southeastern Massachusetts. For
those whose only exposure to cranberry growing is the Ocean Spray
commercials, they don't grow in water. The bogs are only flooded during
cold weather to keep from freezing or during picking time. Obviously,
this involves moving a lot of water and some kind of pump. One of the bog
owners told us the A series motors from old Spridgets were popular pump
motors back when they were plentiful and cheap.
