Bob,

I don't have a Healey hardtop, so I can't answer your specific question.  Bu=
t on the factory side curtains for the soft top the open end of the brackets=
 is towards the rear.  Having the open end of the bracket towards the rear m=
ight help keep the curtains on the car while going down the road in case the=
y come loose and start wiggling. =20
