Here is what is planned for August 12-14 Grattan Race weekend.=C2=A0 I have=
 never seen this many Spridgets registered already.=C2=A0 For those of you =
that have not registered do not miss the early discount!
Grattan 2022 SpriteMidget Race Series Finale August 12-14

As of July 21, 2022 we have 30 Spridgets registered withmore to come from P=
ittsburgh GP and later registrations. This will be our 2ndlargest gathering=
 of Racing Spridgets with SMRS. =C2=A0We have our friends from Texas return=
ing toenjoy the weekend with us including the Prototype Sprite Coupe of Ste=
ve Coleman.=C2=A0=C2=A0948 Bug Eyes are also in abundance inthe 2E class. W=
e have our typical fun planned off and on the track with the GrattanSprite =
Midget Race Series Finale.=C2=A0 Thisyear=E2=80=99s awards will be navy blu=
e baseball caps with SMRS logo on front and 1st,2nd & 3rd on back for the t=
op 3 in each of our 8classes. You need to have raced in 2 of the 4 availabl=
e races to qualify (Gman,Blackhawk, Pittsburgh & Grattan).=C2=A0 Wewill be =
selecting another worthy racer for the Gary Kropf Spirit Award and the JimD=
onato Sprite Midget Most Respected Driver Award.=C2=A0 To reinforce the nee=
d for all of us to bepredictable, observant, vintage sports car drivers.=C2=
=A0 I will be providing a ballot that defines thecriteria for both of these=
 awards with the lucky honoree recognized Sunday. =C2=A0=C2=A0I will bring =
along the cow bell that I willring 15 minutes before any SMRS announcements=
.=C2=A0We are a large group and it takes a lot of time walking around to in=
formeveryone that we are getting together only to have those that said they=
 weregoing to be there not show up, so please listen for the cow bell!

SMRS has done a great job of being Safe Vintage Racers atGingerman and Blac=
khawk and we need to continue that value at Grattan as well,even more so wi=
th the valuable hardware that we are running with!

The paddock is open at 9AM, which is the first time I canever remember bein=
g that early, which is a welcomed greatly allowing a littlemore leisurely s=
et up.=C2=A0 It is going to bea tight squeeze and I am working with Kathy N=
ewton to optimize our SMRSPaddock.=C2=A0 I will provide an update as weget =
closer..=C2=A0=20

Our Group 2 (Vintage Production Sports Cars 1950-1963) willbe Group C for t=
his race, which should get us off the track earlier in eachsession.=C2=A0 W=
e can expect a similarexperience to last year with lots of track time (10 r=
ace sessions if youinclude Enduro and Spridget Series Race), as they say br=
ing extra fuel!=C2=A0 We will have our traditional Saturday andSunday Sprit=
e Midget Luncheons with our favorite Sports Car food group =E2=80=9CBrats=
=E2=80=9D (Itis always appreciated if you can get pre cooked brats or boil =
prior to showingup so they can brown on the grill more quickly and reduce t=
he amount of greasefires we have).=C2=A0 It is greatlyappreciated when othe=
rs can assist with grilling responsibilities knowing someof us will be up t=
o our elbows in grease (not pork, but petroleum) trying tomake the next ses=
sion.=C2=A0 Side dishes arealways appreciated as well.=C2=A0 I willprovide =
condiments, hot grill, plates, napkins & plastic ware.=C2=A0 Please bring e=
nough food for you and yourcrew plus 30% for friends, workers and others th=
at we will invite to join us. TheCape Of Good Hope Portable British Pub wil=
l be brought out Friday Evening forour toasting. =C2=A0=C2=A0The Spridget R=

 Ride.

nt and 1<sup>st</sup>,
2<sup>nd</sup> &amp; 3<sup>rd</sup> on back for the top 3 in each of our 8
classes. You need to have raced in 2 of the 4 available races to qualify (G=
man,
Blackhawk, Pittsburgh &amp; Grattan).&nbsp; We
will be selecting another worthy racer for the Gary Kropf Spirit Award and =
the Jim
Donato Sprite Midget Most Respected Driver Award.&nbsp; To reinforce the ne=

predictable, observant, vintage sports car drivers.&nbsp; I will be providi=
