Larry,

The key to keeping snap-on headlight rims where they belong is three-fold.
The condition of the headlight rim, bucket and the bucket spring clip.  The
bucket has two small receiver sections, designed to engage with the strip of
steel attached to the rim.  Both of these elements must be adjusted for a
proper sung fit.  The bucket spring clip must also be configured to allow a
positive snap as the rim is pushed into place.  Sunbeam Specialties sells
new buckets and spring clips, if you need them.  If you elect to switch to
screw-on rims, all that is necessary is to replace the bucket spring clip
with a bucket screw receiver clip, also available from Sunbeam Specialties.
