The drawing shows that you should run the duct tape over the
hat , around your head and under your chin. They also have other
handy hints on how to fix anything with duct tape including
the rocker panels on most (I assume) Tigers.
(Just got the book as an old mans day gift on Sunday from my
daughter)
I assume because I had used duct several times to temporally
seal the bad ragtop in the Alpine.
