Believe it or not, I once met Rob Martel at the TE/AE meet in
Dearborn, MI. Stories have arisen about him that he has arms of iron.
That one hand is a tinsnip while the other is a hammer, sort of like a
modern day Edward Scissorshand. Another story is he is a reincarnated
panel beater from Pressed Steel. But no, he is of flesh and blood and
not the stuff of myth and legend.

Rob Martel is a mystical body panel beater from Canada (Ontario, I think)
who sometimes supplies the worlds best Alpine/Tiger body panels to vendors
like Rick at SS in Los Gatos, Ca. He is noted for his reluctance to answer
phones and at one time could only be reached by fax. Often goes
underground for weeks at a time. This is of course only folklore as I have
never met or talked to him myself. Best way to get ahold of him? Through
oone of the dealers who handles his panels.
