Andy,
Just bought the 1" longer rod when the original was connected to the 4
barrel. Having adjusted it to fit the shorter cable, the go pedal didn't
meet the floor stop. After putting the "pedal to the metal" a few times,
the rod couldn't take the heavy foot any longer. The 1 inch extra length
accommodates the more forward position of the four-barrel, and allows
proper pedal adjustment. I do believe that is it's purpose in life.
Don't believe it will fit well with a two barrel, but absolute must with
a four barrel.
