John,
If and when you do get into that speedometer drive gear it would be nice if
you report to the list on your experience. We discussed this back about a
month ago and there was some disagreement as to the composition of that gear.
Some thought it was metal and some nylon.
I, also, have a selfish motive. Mine has been screwed up for a few years
and I have just gotten used to using the tack. That system works fine for me
in 4th gear where I know my speed exactly, but I'm totally lost in the other 3
gears.
