One of those days where I'm jealous of the southern-California
types; I mean, I hear all this about their use of a Tiger as a daily
driver and all. Not so easy in other parts of the country.
I'm _still_ cold! I had received a flyer that a local restaurant
was having Thursday-night "car show". It being dry, and the car still
reasonably clean from last Saturday's event, I figured "why not", as it
was only a few miles away.
I'll tell you why not. It was 51 degrees when I left home and 47
when I returned, and that was in downtown Washington, D.C., which is a
major source of hot air so it must've been 5 degrees cooler out in the
suburbs. And would you think I'd put the top up? Noooooo, I had to be a
macho type, and freeze myself. The local 'regulars' didn't even come
until halfway through the evening, for a while a half dozen of us stood
around shivering in the parking lot looking stupid. Eventually got 20
cars though, mostly Chevys, and I came home with my 1st 1st, which felt
pretty good even for such a little event. Next item I put in the trophy
case, though, I'd like to be for actually driving the car, autocrossing
or rallying or the drags.
        And I'm _still_ cold!

        Rent for "Tiger Tom's": $50 stock, $100 personalized, $150
modified. Rents double if holding all Moonstone properties-- "Tiger
Tom's", "Sunbeam Specialties" and "Classic Sunbeam".

PS. About the little Sunbeams. In addition to the 1/25 (1/24?)
Tiger kit, and the 1/43 white-metal Emco kit, I've seen a 1/32 plastic
Alpine, I think it's a part of a 4-car set including an MG, a Triumph
and a Healey or something ( hey, you could build 'em and blow 'em up
with firecrackers or whatever). I saw at United XX what looked like a
1/32 Tiger, I think sitting on Jerry Porsch's air cleaner, I'll have to
assume he converted an Alpine kit, it looked like a fair amount of work
went into it. Don't know of any other minature Tigers or Alpine I-V's.
Only semi-related, did see a Dinky mid-1950's Alpine toy being auctioned
on eBay's internet auctions, but out of my price range.
