Got a good laugh out of the EV discussion!
"Silently rolling, silently rolling, rolling" to a stop miles from nowhere
and once stopped only an eight hour wait while you recharge (causing a less
efficient standby electric plant to fire off a coal powered generator)!!!
Best of all, "only" $7000 for the kit to convert a clapped out VW!
Oh well, there you are "silently rolling" to work in your underwear,
because it happens to be July, and the damned EV has a range of 10 miles
with the AC functioning. Never mind....
You can enjoy the "neck snapping acceleration" (compared to a diesel
Rabbit) of your now 1000# beyond suspension-design-limits EV......until you
get whacked on the freeway and the nasty old acid goes everywhere. Small
problem, you see, the batteries burst on impact or the tops pop off pretty
easily.
If you want to join a small club, try the communist party...they have a
secret handshake, too, I understand.
