Tim,

BRG is a color.  The only color, IMHO, that a British Sports
Car should be painted.  It stands for "British Racing
Green".  Every country is assigned a racing color by the FIA
(Federation Automobile International) that oversees
championship racing.  England is Green, Germany is white
(silver), Italian is red, and the US is White with Blue.

Every British company has their own version of what color
their BRG is.  Rootes uses the code 69 for this color, and
it would appear on your under hood ID plate.

Maybe this will explain why all factory Ferrari racing cars
are red, or why some Cobras are Blue with a white stripe.

Luckily, Rootes version isn't too bad a shade, and is
popular on Tigers.
