And in high seas, remember to furl your jib and batten the hatches, and reef

Spar Varnish is very good stuff.  Used to be used on boats all the time.  Of
course they really didn't mind if it turned yellow, cause they like that color,
and re-coating it every 6 months, and replacing it every 5 years was no big
deal.

The lazy sailing guys today, they want the material to be tough, clear,
impervious to the elements, and last forever.  I guess that's why they invented
linear polyurethane (All Drip makes a 'wood coating system' package at West
Marine or any good ships chandlery).

But we Tiger fans don't mind a bit of pain and labor, or why would we have
bought them in the first place?

Was that "goof luck" a typo?
