Appreciate all the discusion about silicone brake fluid, but I don't
believe the Valvoline "Synpower" is silicone. It meets or exceeds DOT 3
& 4 and the dry/wet boiling point is 513/333 degrees F. It mixes with
conventional brake fluid and it could damage paint finishes. The fluid
contains "a complex mixture of glycol ethers, polyglycols and
inhibitors," whatever that means. The boiling temperatures are good,
but the damage to paint finishes doesn't sound good. Any experience
with this.
