I think you hit the nail on the head. This list and newsletters published by 
clubs are two very different animals. 
A sports car club is much, much more than just a provider of technical 
information, although that may be part of the whole. The reason for a club, 
or more to the point a regional club or affiliate, is to provide the 
structure to bring like minded people together, IN PERSON, to exchange ideas, 
stories, enjoy social and driving events and generally revel in their mutual 
interest, in this case the Sunbeam Tiger.
One of the things that gets lost in electric communication is the personal 
aspect of relationships. So, while the E-mail list is very cool and helpful, 
I would suggest it pales in comparison to being actively involved with live, 
breathing humans.
That point of comparison aside, there is no doubt that the internet is a more 
timely form of dissemninating information. One of the benefits the 
well-funded, national clubs enjoy is the ability to publish both a snail mail 
newsletter and an internet based "E-zine". Until there exists a central body 
coordinating at a national level, we will not have that capability.
