The 1.08 means it's an Autolite 4100, rated at 480 cfm. Ford made two
basic versions, one with 1.08" primaries and one with 1.12" primaries rated
at 600 cfm. The former was used on A-code and D-code 289's and some
1966 big blocks. The latter was usually used on FE (352, 390, 428) big
blocks. There was also a manual choke version of the 1.12" used on 289
hipo's. The carb functions similar to a Holley, that is it has primary and
secondary jets, an accelertor pump, and a power valve. In fact, the new
Holley 4010's are very similar in layout.

taking the good advice I recieved, I did a little more
research.....which warranted a few more questions...I do not believe I
have a HOLLEY I was not able to find any markings which would have
stated so, and I was not able to make a ID using the book I refererenced
on Holleys.
The only markings are the FoMoCo. Tag, and some Cast in marks on the
Front bowl. The TAG reads C4AF R, and the Cast marking (which Look
more Like a Date/Time Stamp) also have A 3HD, and 1.08 cast into it.
Does this sound like a Carter or a Rochester, or even some other type,
or can it still be a Holley in Disguise?
