The following is an about an advertised Sunbeam Talbot found at
http://www.mgcars.org.uk/class/North+AmericaCFS.html.
While I have no interest in this, perhaps some Sunbeam collector may
like to know of its existance or someone on this list knows someone to
pass this along to that would be interested in saving a '53 Talbot from
the crusher.

Found: 1953 Sunbeam Talbot 90 in Running condition. At a Junkyard!
Crusherbound

I was doing my regular Junkyard rounds looking for MGA parts, and
happened on
this junkyard jewel: 1953 Sunbeam Talbot. It runs, it is a Drophead
coupe.
They have the title, it looks to be someone's abandoned
restoration project. Some new chrome bits in the trunk. Complete
right down to
the Sunbeam Cloisonne hubcaps. Looks to be complete, only rust I
could find was
in the floor (scale, not through-rot), some small holes in floor,
under seats.
The sills had some rot, and the chassis looks really solid, only
surface scale.
I have an eye for bad a chassis, and it looked good. Looks to have
been stored
inside somewhere, and someone got fed up with it. Nice car that
just arrived a
few days ago. Again, its a Talbot 90, Drop head coupe.
Interior is all there, however, in some bits. Carpet is gone. Dash
looks good.
Original Radiomobile radio. Bad amateur gray paint job, faded and
ugly.
The car is too good to sit in a place like that. I know its not an
MG, but I
have people in my club that have either owned one before, or wish
to again.
Put the word out! The owner of the junkyard, of course thinks it is
worth much
more than it actually is, but you can negotiate.
He says he wants $3,500 for it, but I think if you showed up with
$2,000 and a
Trailer, it would be yours. Remember, don't show up in a nice new
shiny car and
expect to bargain....borrow a rustbucket, The junkyard is Sonny's
in Rixeyville
Virginia 540 825 2571. (just don't tell them that bit about the
bargaining).
