Folks,
My trunk was out of adjustment and loose, so
I re-adjusted it. When I closed the trunk it wouldn't
open. Had to remove the hinges at the body end to get
the trunk open. (I had just installed a firewall so
I could not access the latch). After several attempts
to adjust the latch bracket on the trunk lid with similar
problems with lockup I finally got smart. Used a chunk of
modeling clay on the latch assy on the body. Gently lowered
the trunk and the mark in the clay indicated that the latch
bracket was hitting on the front side of the latch assy and
not in the slot. The latch bracket did not appear to be
bent and the latch assy was bolted in normally. I therefore
added two washers as spacers under latch bracket upper
bolt holes. This moved the end of the latch assy toward the
rear of the Tiger. Another modeling clay test indicated that
the latch bracket was now properly aligned with the slot in the
latch assy. Trunk now latches firmly and opens with the push
of the button.
