well i flushed the cooling system, removed the fan shroud, and put a 1/8"
hole in my thermostat after doing a boiling water test on it. it opened
before the water came to a boil. it took longer to get hot but it still did.
i then broke out my timing light and checked the timing. timing was at 12
BTDC. i set it to 6 BTDC per the manual. the idle is very rough but i do not
know how the cam should sound, it does start nice though. so will 12 or 6
cause my car to run hotter? i left the fan shroud off pending further
investigation. the car ran at 210 on the highway with 12 BTDC. i will try 6
BTDC Friday or Saturday.
