Heater/windscreen demister control

I am going to repaint and silkscreen the the lettering on the metal panel (?) 
that the temp. and defroster levers stick through and I need to know if the 
black is supposed to be flat, satin, or gloss. Anyone able to say for sure? I 
may be able to screen more of these pieces if anyone needs theirs 
done.....This is IF mine turn out O.K.
