Soft Top Replacement

I am looking at replacing the top on my 65 Mk1.  I have been told that I can
easily adapt to the later velcro style top but I'm not sure that I want to
change from the original design.  The current soft top is old and worn, but
still seems to seal well.  Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Also, when I replace the top, is there anything else that I should have?
Should I replace weatherstripping, etc.?  Is the job difficult or does it
require any special tools?
