You only need longer pushrods if you use the longer 351W valves. Use 289
valves and you gain valve cover clearance.
Also, the common wisdom that only the '69 and '70 351W heads had smaller
chamber volume is apparently incorrect. For example, referring to page 28 of
Monroe's Small Block Ford book, it says that all 351W heads from '69 through
'77 have 60.4 cc chamber volume. The '78 & '80 heads have the chamber volume
increased to 69 cc. Probably the reason this myth got started was that the
compression ratio in the '71 351W was dropped, but this was done by a change
in the pistons, not the head chamber volume.

They were the only 2 years w/high compression. Others were "smog" low
compression heads. You can ID them easily by the cast-in parts
numbers---C90E
for the 1969, and D00E for the 1970, if memory serves.
You'll need longer, hardened pushrods for the guideplates you'll have to
install
too. They are 6.905" long & I bought them thru the Ford Motorsports catalog
years ago.
