What light are you talking about?
Check Engine or Check Emission?

About every 70K miles Fords will turn on
the Check Emissions light. Look
under the dash for a small rectangular
box (I have to remove the glove box
on my Ranger) that says 'reset' and
will have tape over a hole. Remove the
tape. Turn on the ignition and the
light should be on. Insert a small
wire or philips screw driver and push,
you'll hear a click and the light will go out
Your're good for another 70K miles.

If its Check Engine check the oil and
fluid levels. Then almost any
shop of any type will put a decoder on
your car and give the codes for about $20
and reset the memory. If the light comes
back on, then check the code and repair
accordingly.

#1 cause for the light on most cars is
a loose of malfunctioning gas cap. The
cap must seal tightly usually with a click.
