Hi, I am new to the list so I will introduce myself. My name is Pete
Zedaker, I have owned my Tiger for a while now. It was well loved to say the
least (formerly an automatic and far from original) After helping build and
drive a factory five cobra kit car I have decided on putting a t-5 with a
5.0 with fuel injection in it. Like I said, The car is not original so I
don't mind cutting and welding. Anyhow, I would like to know what the largest
wheels/tires that will fit under the rear fenderwells are. I have heard of
people running 15x8.5 with rolled fenders.
Fitting the wheels I want is another story. I think I can use 15x8.5
torq thrust D's on the back (3 3/4 back spacing). I have Dana 44 axle flanges
from an international scout that can be drilled to any five lug pattern.
However, I question the strength of the tiger Dana 44 and the spacing of the
wheels probably won't work out right so I might need custom axles. Anyone
know how much torque a flanged axle Dana can withstand? ( assuming the car
will actually hook up!) Perhaps shortening an 8.8 or 9inch ford would be a
better choice.
Well that's enough for now. I am looking forward to hearing everyone's
response
Thanks
                                           -Pete
