I'm pleased to report that among Hurricane Lili's victims was NOT B9473298.
We evacuated to Houston, but Tigger remained in the garage. We suffered no
damage to the house and only lost one large oak tree. Took all weekend to
clean up the mess.
We only lost power for 26 hours and were gone during that period. Some in
town didn't get power until last night, while many outlying areas still lack
power. Lots of homes damaged by falling trees.
Even a relatively weak hurricane is nothing you ever want to deal with. At
least it gives you plenty of warning and the option to leave - unlike a
tornado or earthquake.
We are just thankful that Lili fell from a Cat. 4 to a Cat. 2 just before
landfall. Otherwise, this e-mail would be far different (assuming I could
even find my computer!).
