I support the basic idea behind the TAC program but also believe as with most
things of this type it could stand to be improved.First I do not support the
idea of a secret fraternity.I think all information about the uniqueness of a
Tiger should be made available to all such as are available for other
collectibles.I realize there may be a few exceptions such as Shelby's but
there are countless thousands of books, coins, furniture, works of art, others
automobiles that are available for a prospective buyer to study. This helps to
protect him when making a purchase.

If someone wants to create a fake with a car all they have to do is take a
proper car & duplicate it.Not a real big accomplishment if one has some skills
in bodywork & mechanical knowledge. If the public were"allowed" to have access
to information in the long run less fakes would appear because people would
realize what others are doing. It was not to many years ago when a car was
awarded the highest trophy a Tiger could be awarded, then after quite a long
time it was decided that the car was a fake. That to me speaks volumes, when a
gathering of Tiger owners can't even tell when they are looking at a Tiger or
not.If secrets were removed & knowledge was available this would not have
happened.

I have heard other club owners who have or were going to have their car TACed
say this made their cars worth X$more. So TAC has evolved that a real Tiger is
now not a real Tiger unless it has a certain sticker under its carpet. In
effect it has forced people because of money to have others put their blessing
on your Tiger. If you are an original owner unless you are TACed you are on
the outside looking in.

I have friends who's cars have been turned down by TAC committee .This is now
interpreted as the car is not a Tiger, when as I understand it is supposed to
mean that they can't certify it as being a Tiger, that is to say maybe it is
maybe it isn't.But the way it goes in reality it means the car is a fake.

I guess if a group wants to keep information it obtains on their own they can
even though it seems a little bit elitist, but to support to supressing
infomation that doesn't belong to them alone is wrong as it is as much mine as
theirs.Hide your info if you must but don't restrict my rights. The records of
our cars need to be given to the people who own their cars and prospective
buyers.I am talking about the records in England that tell much more about
Tigers than has been known.

My 2 cents.I have TACed & unTACed Tigers,Joe S.
