Henry,
I think that I understand your intent is to provide a more positive
application of power through the mount. The one caution I would make is that
unless you have driven a car with solid mounts before I would recommend
against this for a street car.
Our already fragile gauges, switches, as well as other components I fear
will not fair well against the vibration introduced with a solid mount. Our
race car ATE an Autometer mechanical gauge and we had to replace it with a
liquid filled one. I bolted my mounts through with grade 8 hardware and left
the bolt a little loose with self locking nuts. This permits a really NICE
and comfortable ride in the car until you stab the throttle and it is VERY
positive and invisible (very important to me). Under decent load in 4th gear
you can still feel every vibration in the car driveline and it would get
just as old as flowmasters to me in a very short while. I would not try to
bolt an already separated mount but they are not that expensive from SS or
you can try as others have suggested and use a 64.5 Mustang mount.
Regardless,
As I do not know what the intent for the car is Street/Strip/Track I just
offer my opinion.

Hello Tim,

I intend to through bolt and strap the left mount and make a solid mount for

the right mount. Under acceleration, the torque produced by the engine will
not compress the right side (when solid) and is tension limited on the
through-bolted left side. Under deceleration, the left mount will compress.
This will
allow the engine to fulcrum on the solid right mount.

The problem I now have is that I'm twisting the front half of the Tiger
clockwise. I may have to run a mini cage to strengthen the front end.

Just thinking out loud.

Respectfully,
Henry Vicioso (I'll be at the June Sprints at Road America with the Tiger
spectating)
