Ok, I am still looking for some spiffy 15 inch wheels for B9471136. I have
an original set of the LAt wheels but want someting bigger for newer and
better rubber. SOmebody point me to a good place to look or have some for
sale? 15 x 6 or so will do nicely. I want to begin driving the little orange
car again here in Pahrump, but the tires now on the car are 1974 vintage
(with original air of all things). Too many cracks for me, thought. Which
tire is best for normal to maybe some spirited driving in Pahrump...
Oh, for those following the worlds fastest sunbeam wannabe it is still in
work. mostly done except for a few expensive items (AFR 205 heads, pro
magnum rockers, beehive valve springs, AOD tranny with racing innerds with
transgo shift kit, safety drivers suit, seat belts, fuel injectors (42 #/hr
to start), eeciv tweecer, laptop), and a dab of plumbing for the water
injection and fuel injection system. Not going to be cheap to finish it, but
I will this year. Sorry, no new photos yet. Oh, I have the graphics: a set
of crossed waving flags for the hood (American on drivers side, Brit on the
other), a sunburst (well half a burst anyway), with sunrays coming out and
in Ford Blue the "Spirit of Sunbeam" for the deck lid. Numbers for the side
are 1542 (birthday) with car class and engine size of C / BFMS (C enginee,
Blown Fuel Modified Sport) for each door. On the left rear fender is a
tribute to all the email lists who helped and a few personal names as well.
On the right fender is the salute to Sir Henry Segrave and his magic 200.792
mph average speed achieved in 1927. I hope to add my name to that side when
I go faster than that. My first engine will be detuned to about 550 hp which
should be enough to exceed that speed while not scaring the dooky out of me
to boot. Short wheel base and all (stretched to a whopping 90 inches). Oh,
regarding Sir Henry Segrave, he was posthumously given a place of honor in
the SCTA's prestigous 200 mph club as the first anywhere to set a record
over 200 mph. I believe this happened last year.
