Hi Chris,

Perhaps you 1/2" spacers put the fan off center, threw the balance off and
the resultant vibration was the last straw for your water pump. Rather get
an aluminium spacer machined-- should be easy and cheap (borrow a lathe for
15min.) cheers, derek

I installed my new Derale fan #17015 by shimming the
engine up about 1/16 inch and using 1/2 inch spacers
(basically short steel tubes on each bolt) from ACE
hardware between the fan and the pully. Everything
lined up great. I decided to flush the system. The
fan was cooling so well that I had a hard time
getting the engine up to operating temp in my garage.
A little cardboard in front of the radiator fixed
that. 10 minutes into the flushing cycle and my water
pump became Niagra falls. Go figure......
Now it all comes off again.

Chris
