  While a  t**d is still a  t**d, I'll take a polished t**d over the garden
variety t**d any day of the week!
 I believe you are right in that the Tiger steering was far more
"engineered" (so to speak) to fit than to perform. However, most of us lack
the background, tooling etc. to move beyond attempts to improve what already
exist rather than create a more ideal suspension. So, regardless of how
convoluted the engineering and methods the t**d is given the best luster
possible.
   My grandma used to say that "some people can fall into a pile of s**t and
come out smelling like a rose." My guess is that to design and impilment a
significantly better suspension over current modifications would cost a
proprtional amount between a pile of s**t and a dozen roses on Valentines
Day. So, we do what we do because for most of use it's all we can do. I'm
not trying to argue against you, but rather say that most of us have
limitation and attempt to make the most of them.
