mark 1 heater control valves are cheap and everywhere, if i recall right,
around $35 (try Sundbeam Specialties or Classic Sunbeam, or ebay all day
long) but mark 1a/2 style are hard to come by, but pop up on ebay often for
around 125 bucks.
