Chris,
For MkI the clock was Smiths CE.3030/00 (Rootes 1228949), 12 volt
Negative Ground, Red hands, "3" and "9" indices were sideways, time beat
adjustment on lower left.
For MkIA, MkII, and SV Alpine the clock was Smiths CE.3131/01 (Rootes
1235815), 12 volt Negative Ground, Red hands, "3" and "9" indices were
upright, time beat adjustment on lower left.
Smiths did make similar faces with an internal battery drive, but not
for Tigers or Alpines. These were not reliable, or currently repairable.
Automobile Instrument repair people, with Smiths parts, can repair most,
or you can go to your local Rolex Dealer and have an annual maintenance
cleaning for only $375 (parts extra). ;-)
