This is the part I'm going to try to hack up, looks somewhat flexible and for 
the Denso style units. Tons of stuff for the SB Chevy. Hey I should swap out 
the Ford and dump a chevy in... Just kidding folks ;)

Hugh,
  That is basically how I installed the alternator from a Geo Metro.  I
couldn't see exactly how you did yours, but I braced mine in a triangulated
fashion to a common water pump bolt. The solid brace is going to the front
of the long bolt at the top and the slotted brace at the bottom for
adjustment.
