OK, thanks for the info and ideas, guys. The order is placed at one of the
suggested sources.

This all started last summer when I had a couple momentary engine issues on
the road, but everything was perfect when I tried to diagnose it. The coil
and ballast resistor were still the originals, and I'd been thinking about
renewing them anyway.  So they went on the list, to eliminate a couple more
possible electrical causes.  I replaced the ballast resistor a few months
back, but its winter here now, so not many miles here since.   I'll
probably do a new set of points and condenser too, though they seemed ok
when checked.  No, I'm not thinking or going the Pertronix route at this
time.
