Try Michaels. They seem to have a lot of stuff like that. I believe =
that the original split rivets were black.

I believe that is a Split Rivet =E2=80=93 probably =
nickel or chrome plated.

A big hardware store might have them or maybe an upholstery or cloth =
goods shop.

Ok, so I am deep into the trunk refurb, not restoration. The press board =
components, the side panels and the one hiding the fuel cross over tube =
were literally falling apart. So I have made new ones for an oak veneer =
panel plywood material a bit more than 1/8 inch thick. Not difficult but =
time consuming. Right now I am searching for something I do not know =
the name of which really, really, makes it hard to find. The side panels =
in the trunk have angle brackets attached to them with what on the =
surface look like real rivets. Closer inspection however, shows that =
they are a split pin of some sort that after being pushed through the =
hole and angle are bent over, akin to cotter pins, only with flat little =
legs. Just what the dickens are these critters called? And where short =
of an old Spitfire airplane factory am I gonna find them? 5q are =
needed. I can as a last resort install some 3/16 rivets to get me by but =
real thing is preferred.=20
