1st you need to find where the leak starts on the
transmission. You might be able to use just a UV flashlight or light to
find the starting point.

It is very possible the top cover gasket is leaking. You might be able to
tighten the top cover bolts. Top cover gaskets are still available - part #
C4AZ-7223-A; I believe that part number has been superseded a few time but
it is a starting point. You might have to buy a gasket kit these days.

Sounds like a typical Ford shifter. I remember having that problem. I went
through the linkage to make sure everything was squared up, tight and no
wear points. I believe I stretched the springs of the shifter a little to
tighten things up some and I went through the gear shift linkage adjustment
- Shop Manual, Section E, pg. 4.

Beyond that you would need to go to a Hurst shifter I believe.

Subject: [Tigers] Tiger transmission

Hello,

Everything else associated with my Tiger is done, except......

The transmission

It leaks a small amount of oil from the sides, and the shifting is sometimes
balky

even getting stuck out of a gear (very occassionally). Especially shifting
fast.

What is available to address old transmission blues?

Rick is very limited to transmission/shifter parts.
