I also intend to replace the cable with a new one when I've got some
spare currency.
My big problem was to get it to work- and as for oil & grease fouling the
works, I've got that covered too- the coupling at the tach end has come
off and the cable's just resting in there. I'm going to rig it up so
that there's a bearing holding up the shaft, or else bite the bullet and
get the new cable now.
