Has anyone ever dissembled or repaired a distributor vacuum advance unit? Mine has a leak and I really hate to part with $50-$60 for a new one, when the only problem is a tear or rip in a rubber diaphram. Can these things be resurrected? Has anyone done it, without trashing it? I suspect the durometer (softness) of the rubber is important, so it moves at the right pressure, but I'm not sure. Any takers on this one?
