Period Wire Wheels

I have wire wheels with 165 SR 15 tires on my 1955 Swallow Doretti
(Triumph Engine). What sort of tires can I go to if I want something
with a bit more tread. I don't know the width of the rim but I suspect
that the narrow rim width is my only limiting factor. I'm not looking
for huge super wide tires just something a bit wider than the 165's I
currently have.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions?
