My muffler blew last week on my '71 GT6. Other than the fact that it might fall
off at any moment, it kinda sounds nice. One of the tail pieces broke free (the
one with the bracket holding it up) and there is a nice hole in the side.
My question has to do with what to replace it with. Should I get the stock
exhaust system to replace it, go with a Monza, or are there other options? I
like it to be not too loud so I can listen to my favourite tunes while driving
without turning the stereo up to 11, but I also like it to have a little 'meat'
people know to get out of my way. Is there a comfortable medium somewhere? What
are the cost/performance (and maybe ease of installation) considerations? My
challenge is finding a warm dry place to work on it.
