I suspect that somehow, possibly through the archives, a spammer or two has
got a hold of our email addresses. I set this account up only for the 4
team.net lists that I belong to, and my spam filter traps at least a dozen
emails a day. This account has never been given out to anyone except the
team dot net server. Another possibility is that someone on the list, who
has not kept their computer updated, has replied directly to me instead of
the list, and they themselves were infected. I have not seen an actual
virus come through to this account however. Just spam. They are all
addressed to this account be it hidden or directly to it. I got this
gibberish email to this account and it may be remnants of a worm. I have
also been getting *.gif file attachments to this account. I have no idea
what they contain as I trash them immediately. What I do is set up a rule
to look for specifically for the specific team.net sender and sort via this
tag, be it mgs, spridgets, spitfires, or triumphs. Everything else goes to
a garbage folder and that is all it ever gets, garbage. The pure text
messages in the sorted folders are just the list traffic. It does puzzle me
that occasionally a lister will send a message in rich text and it gets
through. Not sure about that one.
