Phil Buttolph asked about Northern CA vintage racing. The latest issue of MG
Vintage Racers newsletter had the schedule for Thunder Hill Park, Willows, CA.
(916) 934 5588. It is a 1.9 mile road circuit. They listed some vintage and
club events. I wonder if some of the clubs have relaxed rules.

VSCCA shares track time at Lime Rock Park, CT with other clubs. The April
driving school shares time with the Performance Drivers Assoc., they run
a variety of cars including early Vettes. In June VSCCA shared track time with
the Jaguar club. That club also allowed a variety of cars including a 60's
Vette. The fellow next to me in the paddock was running his 1987 Ferrari,
he drove in from Boston MA. His son was more interested in the "real" race
cars.

Same newsletterlisted the waivers for MGs running in the 1995 Collier Cup.
Drivers do not have to be SVRA members, only need a VMC license. Cars not
having dual master cylinders must have a working hand brake. All Collier Cup
cars will practice and qualify with their regular group the rest of the week-
end. The Zippo Grand Prix is held Sept 7 - 10 at Watkins Glen International,
Watkins Glen NY.

The 1994 40th Anniversary of the Collier Cup saw almost 60 MGs on the track
with *no* major incidents. The speed differential was much greater than in the
other classes - we had several very fast MGA twin cams and MGB's running in
the race with TCs. One TC was piloted by Denver Cornett and both the driver
and car raced in the very first Watkins Glen Grand Prix in 1948.
