Just in case anyone shared my confusion about VSCDA vs. BRIC race groups,
here it is from the horse's mouth, as it were. Judy Cull of VSCDA was
kind enough to forward my query on to Mr. Bruggenthies. I'm told that
these race groups can include 60 to 70 cars, so if I can't find someone
to race with it is my own fault!

As I responded to George, I'll be thrilled to participate, whichever race
group it is (as long as it ain't the Formula 1 cars, yowch!).

The VSCDA does sanction the event in July here but it does not operate
the event and classes listed in the entry form apply. I am sorry if this
caused any confusion. Each event chairperson has the ability to define
race groups and classes for their events. Each venue attracts a different
mix of vehicles and therefore there is usually some modification of class
grouping. For the International Challenge your historic car and engine
will be placed in group 8. The lap times for both groups 2 and 8 cars are
almost identical at Road America and I trust that you will find someone
to have a great race with. If I can be of any assistance please call me.
