Thanks to Mark and all who replied on this. In fact I drove around to 
where I knew there were two 6's last night. BOTH had coloured rear ends
the same as the car. Shame! Now I have to determine exactly where on 
the rear end to paint: to edge of 1/4 panels etc.

No answers on the brake switch so I'll keep working on it.
