Hey Walt--If you have a spare intake;/exhaust valve laying around, take it
and put the stem down the piston bore of the carb valve (from the flat
bottom of the piston, not the top).  Rap the stem firmly with a hammer and
you'll drive the adjustment screw and its retainer out through the top of
the piston bore.  Take a pick and pull the old O-ring off and replace with a
new one.  Lube with oil and put the screw first (hex down) then its retainer
square in the bore once again.  Push the bits back into place with the valve
stem until they seat at the bottom of the piston bore once again.  Take your
hex mixture adjustment tool and adjust the screw full left (lean), then back
off 3 turns to the right (rich).  This will be a good starting point for the
mixture.

If you don't have a valve, use a suitably sized rod or Phillips screwdriver.
It' gets easier each time.
